KENYANS IN NEED OF HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE

There have been some negative occurrences and wailing over the sudden drought which has taken over most parts of Kenya, causing, an inter-communal and resource conflicts among the people. More than 200 families in the central Kenya, and 60 households in Tangulbei have suffered an immense level of drought and famine. Schools have been closed, no more equitable Facilities, children from displaced families have been forced to attend classes at distantly located schools that are about 20km away from displacement camps. This has really caused an abrupt congestion to the host schools that have taken over 350 affected children. Many pupils have dropped out of schools, as they  help their parents in search of food, water and pasture to stay alive.

“CURRENCY DEVALUATED”

ETHIOPA DEVALUES ITS CURRENCY, RAISES INTEREST RATES.

In accordance to the report had on Ethiopia a year ago over the high level of investment returns leading to an abrupt inflationary pressure on the country’s currency value, the government has currently suggested a devaluation of their currency to raise the country’s competitiveness in the global arena. 

However, following the Forex currency crisis, The Central Bank and The National Bank of Ethiopia has justified the move and devaluated the currency (birr) by 15pc and raised the interest rate by two percentage points to seven percent. This strategic factor has been seen as an effort to control the level of inflation, to also increase the export earnings and the economic value of the country in the global world exchange.
